Nintendo Fall Press Conference Announces New DSi and Slew of Games

Nintendo’s fall press conference brings us confirmation of a cornucopia of new games and announcements. Some are even saying it was what E3 should have been. Chad already posted news of a new Punch-Out title, but that is just a tiny slice of the cake that Nintendo so generously handed out to us all. Hit the jump for the full list!

The Nintendo DSi is the updated DS model, reports Shacknews. While it lacks a GBA slot, this is compensated by:

- the larger 3.25 inch screen
- two 640×480 pixel cameras
- audio enhancements
- an SD card slot
- and internal memory.

Not only this, but DSi owners will be able to download games for points on Nintendo’s website, for prices from free to 800 points, and the DS web browser will be built-in. Surprisingly, the DSi launches November 1 in Japan, for around $180, with a US release scheduled for sometime in 2009.

Nintendo also played two trailers featuring plenty of new games, for both Wii and DS, including the much anticipated Punch-Out. Here’s a list of everything shown:

Not only have all of these games been confirmed, but Destructoid reports that Nintendo will be porting GameCube games to the Wii, complete with waggle controls, starting with the original Pikmin.

I’m sorry Nintendo but your idea to port GC games to Wii with added “waggle” doesn’t mean you’re making awesome new games. Although, this list is encouraging. I have no idea what any of these games are, but hopefully they’ll make up for games like Wii Music.
