Left 4 Dead Demo Details
by Sam Naylor on October 10, 2008 at 12:42 pm

Valve’s Gabe Newell today confirmed several details pertaining the demo of the much anticipated Left 4 Dead to EDGE-Online. The level featured in the demo supports up to four players, and it to be a section of the “No Mercy” campaign.
Newell also stated that the estimated release date for both the PC and XBox 360 demos is “early November”; looks like we’ll be able to start shooting zombies before the game even releases. We know we’ll be trying out the demo as soon as we can, but how do you feel? Will you be downloading the demo the day it’s released, or will you wait for the full game?
Are you even looking forward to the game? Let us know in the comments.

Hello there, I’m new here. I’m probably looking forward to this particular title more than any other this holiday season. Fallout 3 is a close second, but no online co-op in that one.
As for the demo, sure, I’ll give it a go. My only worry is that it might spoil some of the fun that would otherwise be discovered in the final game. This was part of the problem with the demo for Crackdown; the thrill of jumping between rooftops only lasts so long, and I’d already spent hours doing it in the demo, long before I had the actual disc in my hands.
But of course, how can anyone resist the lure of a free trial, when everyone else is playing it and raving about how excellent it is?

@pinwheel:
I agree. I want to play the demo like crazy, but at the same time, I want the full game to be fresh when I play it. I trust Valve to make it fun no matter what, though.
