The Watercooler – 22 October 2008

The Watercooler is a daily Ripten feature that basically gives people something to talk about… but you knew that already, right? I mean, it’s been three days now. This is the best thing you will see on the Internet today, mainly because it is the best thing I saw on the Internet yesterday. But you knew that too, right? Okay, moving on…
Today’s Watercooler is a short highlight from a football game last Saturday. This selection for today surprised me because I do not watch nor do I give two shits about football, especially college football.
What you will see in this video is a referee knocking down a player. This was intriguing in many ways because 1) football players are generally bigger than refs and should be able to plow through them; 2) the ref was mostly not moving while the player was running forward; and 3) the ref stalked this player and tried to knock him down. Wow.
Watch it, but only for informational purposes. Violent referees are not a joke unless it involves walking into a bar.
You’re welcome.
