Klonoa’s Westernized Redesign Makes Me Cry
by Demi Adejuyigbe on October 30, 2008 at 9:28 pm
Back in 2002, I first played Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil when my neighbor found a copy in the bargain bin at GameStop. We spent hours on end trying to get to the end of the game before dinnertime, and never actually did. But without a doubt, I can say that parts of the Klonoa series rank amongst my favorite games I’ve ever played- which is why it pains me to report that Klonoa’s return on the Wii may see Klonoa’s redesign. Kotaku put it best, describing it as the “poochied” version of Klonoa. Ouch. Hit the jump to see Klonoa’s purported redesign.

What the hell…?
This worries me…
I hope we never have to see a thin anime style Mario.
I’m going to go bash my head against a wall repeatedly now.

As long as the game plays the same, I could care less if his hat is gone and his ears are funky.

How is anime-looking western style?

Cookigaki thinks he looks the same. The only reason his ears are down in the first picture is because he is wearing that silly hat, and he certainly isn’t going to cut holes in it or stuff his ears up in it like a girl. He still does not look cool: no leather, no katana, no heaving breasts? Cookigaki does not approve!

He’s pretty different. His ears aren’t even the same between the pictures. Also, it’s westernized because the redesign would be for the NTSC versions of the game.
