Nintendo Reveals DSi Ware Lineup- WarioWare, Anyone?

by Sam Naylor on November 2, 2008 at 12:27 pm

At a financial briefing, Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, has revealed the lineup for the DSi’s downloadable games service, due to start in December. The initial games available will include six “Art Style Puzzle games” (which seem to be along the lines of the Bit Generations series) for 500 points each, a set of train maps, and a whole load of Made in Wario (WarioWare in the West) titles. These include sets of minigames from the original GBA title, sold in packs for 200 points each, and Utsusu! Made in Wario, which uses the DSi’s camera, allowing players to take photos of themselves and be in the game!

Also mentioned was Made in Ore, an application for creating your own Made in Wario minigames, where you can “make your own music, graphics, pretty much everything, including programming the logic and making your own ‘game cassette’.” You can then transfer your creations into Asobu! Made in Ore, a WiiWare game- you can then play the games on the big screen.

Seems pretty good to me- it’s not often Nintendo includes a feature to program your own game, and I love the WarioWare series. I think it could be awesome- what do you think? Is it worth getting a DSi for downloadable games and apps? Let us know in the comments.
