Halo 3: Recon Detailed in Upcoming Game Informer
by Roly Reyes on November 12, 2008 at 10:43 pm

The original announcement trailer for Halo 3: Recon left a lot of unanswered questions and, even worse, projected the release to be a full year away. Thankfully, Game Informer has pulled through and gained exclusivity for the first bit of concrete details about Bungie’s next project.
The December 2008 issue will have 10 pages’ worth of Recon information and screenshots. Subscribers will also be able to visit the Game Informer website on November 17 for an undisclosed amount of additional information.
Odd that they’d go to GI as opposed to EGM, who they’ve gone to for both Halo 2 and Halo 3 exclusives in the past. Here’s hoping that we finally get some concrete information as to exactly how Recon will differ from the traditional Halo experience.

I saw some of the game play for this game and it kinda reminded me of WoW. I just think they need to end the Halo franchise before it gets bad, and I like Halo I’d hate to see it go to shit by it being milked for all it’s worth.

I believe you are thinking of Halo Wars, which is a real-time strategy game. Recon is a first-person shooter and is not like WoW at all… unless maybe you play WoW in first-person view.

Oh snaps you’re right, my bad. Thanks for clearing that up.
But still no more Halo :<

I can agree with you there. I never understood the Halo obsession, but the “stealthier” Recon sounds interesting to me because (and this will be blasphemous to the fanboys) I liked playing as the Arbiter in Halo 2 more than I did Master Chief.

Burn the Heretic! Suffer not the mutant to live! A closed mind is a healthy mind! For the Emperor!
I don’t understand the Halo obsession either, but I do enjoy the “world” or “universe” of Halo’s storyline. Not so much of a raving fan of the gameplay though, especially the much overhyped multiplayer. Frankly, if this ends up being like Rainbow Six: Halo… that’d be friggin’ sweet. I get much more enjoyment out of small tactical battles like CoD4’s objective based games or Gears of War. I like no respawns, I like one shot kills, and I like having to work with a team.

Such a long wait for this game.
I hope to find some scanned pages on the internet when this issue drops because I am not a subscriber and I am a cheap ass s.o.b.!
I just read that this will not be a full price game and that the campaign will only last 3 – 5 hours!
It’s not coming out for almost a year and it’s only going to have a campaign that lasts 3 – 5 hours and a few new multiplayer maps? WTF?

judging by the video, it does look like a Socom, Rainbow six or any kind or first person strategy. Considering all the others have been master cheif jumping into those brutes… that would be kind of nice to actually give it a more “realistic” battle feel. but a year from now… will there even be a 360? (heard microsoft is playing on making a new system)
