Blood of Bahamut: Square’s New DS RPG Uses Wi-Fi

Just saw over at Famitsu a bunch of news about the new RPG coming out for DS titled Blood of Bahamut. With what they seem to have planned, I am very excited about this game being released. Read on to find out what I’m stoked about.
Wi-Fi multiplayer. Yes, I said Wi-Fi multiplayer. On the DS. In an RPG. From Square. This is what I thought the DS was going to be for in the first place. There aren’t too many games that utilize Wi-Fi, and those that do either have it in the genre I don’t want (Advance Wars), or do it a bit differently than I had hoped (Castlevania). According to the article, BoB (not a great acronym, I know) will have four-player action to go along with a single-player story.
From what I can tell on the screenshots, you do most of the story if not all of it from atop a monster that I can only assume is a reanimation of the monster Bahamut. It is yet to be seen what the true story is, but it should be rather good.
I hope I’m not getting too excited over this game only to get shafted on the multiplayer aspect, but time will tell. I’m still looking forward to this game either way, but if I can play it with friends and actually play out story mode with them co-op style, I’ll be that much happier.
