Well, you didn’t before people mentioned it, and then you slowly said that you used VGChartz. You said

That there, is what we reacted on (apart from the fact that you in the article gave to mention to VGC). You have the exact same numbers as VGChartz do, just rounded. That gives some serious doubt to you having some other information from NPD or Chart Track.

You’re good at squeeling yourself away when you messed up, but admitting it would have been much better.

And just FYI, Mr. Ladnis, there is information out there that is not made available to the general public. It’s available to plenty of people, just apparently not you. I’m actually somewhat surprised that you would think otherwise.

That means that you are saying that you found the numbers from someplace else too, you didn’t. Prove that you did, or stop claiming that you have some data that isn’t available to anyone else.

Why are you acting like rounding was some sort of exhaustive effort. All you did was truncate the numbers (except FIFA 09 for some odd reason). I don’t see how that is any slower, unless you were going to literally copy and paste from vgc, but then you’d need to edit extraneous things out.

Well the numbers will always be higher than chart track+NPD because those only cover a handful of countries.

But yeah, that does pretty much prove that he just copied VGChartz numbers. Though I am relatively sure Motorstorm would be over 1 million not counting the bundles. It was really only extensively bundled in the US, and sold about 400k there before the bundles even started.

Anyways, I don’t see why the author didn’t just credit VGChartz, instead of claiming to use NPD/Chart-Track data. Or at the very least make it less blatant.

So I used the various tools and information from NPD and sites like Chart-Track to compile this list of PS3 games with worldwide sales over one million units, as accurate as I could make it with the latest information I had.

And yet, you were less accurate than what VGChartz is. Amazing huh? How you with various tools and info from NPD and Chart-Track, managed to be less accurate than what anyone can visit a free site, with no sign-up and find out, telling you where they find the numbers?

Motorstorm has sold less than 1M not counting bundles, still you have the same number as VGChartz, which does track bundles. Your number is higher than what chart track + NPD would give you, as they don’t count bundles.

A sale to a store is not a real sale.

Learn the difference people and stop sounding ignorant. VGchartz is probably a little out, but not by a great amount.

Also, no, the numbers cannot be edited by anyone like wiki, that is just completely false.

About N4G, what is there to say about it that hasn’t been said? Want more proof go read stuff on there and compare it to Wikipedia.

And GameOn, I also had quite the laugh at the mention of N4G. Do people not realize that N4G has no opinion and no facts, that all of their articles are from other websites? How could you say you trust a site that has no voice of its own to trust? The only thing N4G has is a community of a few intelligent people drowning in a sea of douchebag fanboys. It’s a good source for finding gaming-related stuff from around the web, but the site itself has little content of its own to be labeled credible.

But seriously, I did compare the numbers I had with VGchartz, and I said that in my first comment. If I was just going to rip the numbers from VGchartz, I wouldn’t have rounded at all and I would have just given them credit. Why would I name-drop Chart-Track and not VGchartz? As a blog site, most of our information is based off other websites — we just put our own flavor on it. This is no different.
