The Watercooler – Macy’s Parade Gets RickRolled
by Dan Landis on November 28, 2008 at 4:04 am
Two in a row? It must be Christmas!
Warning: The Watercooler is the best thing you will see on the Internet today, mainly because it is the best thing I saw on the Internet yesterday. Be advised that these Watercooler stories are not necessarily videogame related (they usually won’t be), and are often silly, controversial, and/or not safe for work (NSFW). If this type of content frequently offends you, please be aware that I just warned you — if you still click through and get offended, it will be your own stupid fault. Otherwise, please continue…
Today’s Watercooler features a RickRoll of epic proportions. Courtesy of the Cartoon Network, everyone watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade just got RickRolled, which is literally the biggest RickRoll in the history of RickRolling.
Check it.
You’re welcome.

Cookigaki never really understood the whole rick roll thing. Cookigaki also thinks that having Rick Astley there is person makes it less of a rick roll and more of just him singing the song at the parade, but maybe that’s because Cookigaki knew it was coming and wasn’t surprised like people watching the parade live.

Wow, cookigaki’s insight amazes me yet again.

2 watercoolers in a row? Did everyone take the day off yesterday or something?
on November 28, 2008 7:39 am
Yes, Cookigaki has an incredible brain.
And yes, Vaj, pretty much everybody was apparently busy yesterday eating turkey.

Which of course meant no news from anywhere to report on either.
on November 28, 2008 8:31 am
I certainly don’t think that’s true since the world is so huge and most of them didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving yesterday.
on November 28, 2008 8:45 am
Most news comes from American sources. Most of the world isn’t celebrating, true, but most of the world never dishes out videogame news.

Not to poop in your turkey, but most other game sites I visit may have been a little lighter than usual, but they didn’t completely take the day off. Obviously there’s some news out there.

Very true. Still, the only news that they reported was 1. After I’d gone to sleep (Illness + UK) and 2. Rubbish ‘not-really-interesting’ news.

I’m not busting on you guys. I really like your stuff, but I just don’t think you can say there was absolutely nothing to report yesterday. I don’t think you should take it personally, Sam, and Dan shouldn’t either. You guys and Demi, Keane, and Rangebar are about the only ones I can count on these days. If I was having this conversation with anyone else, I would tell them they owe me $10,000 since I’m now treating them for compulsive lying.

No no, you’re right, there was stuff to report; I’m just saying personally I thought there wasn’t anything interesting :D

Do you understand how much you can get laid by whispering those song lyrics into some unsuspecting chick’s ear. Trust me, I’ve Rick Rolled some girls alright.

Hahaha, I’ll have to try that.
