‘The Witcher’ Creators Named Entrepreneurs of the Year; Witcher Console Release Semi-Announced

As CD Projekt co-founders and creators of The Witcher, Michal Kicinski and Marcin Iwinski have been named Entrepreneurs of the Year by business firm Ernst & Young. Who are Ernst & Young? Well, it just happens to be the 7th largest company in the United States, and its Entrepreneur of the Year program is what the business world calls “a big deal”.
CD Projekt said in a statement that the criteria for being named Entrepreneur of the Year was “resourcefulness, innovativeness, good management, and the measure of worldwide success achieved by the company by offering products better than those offered by foreign competitors.” If “making a kick-ass game” were part of the equation, CD Projekt would have a lock on the worldwide competition this upcoming June.
CD Projekt also happened to slip in a tentative release date for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of The Witcher as Fall 2009. Jeez, I’m still drowning in all of the Fall ‘08 games and now they’ve got me already thinking about ‘09. It seems that there will soon be quite literally too many great games to play, and I can’t decide whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
