All we’ve seen of God of War III is a short teaser that most suspect to be CGI.  News of an original trailer making its way to the 2008 Video Game Awards was accompanied by the thought that the trailer would be an extended version of that CGI reveal.  It’s not. It’s real-time gameplay.

That’s according to Geoff Keighly of Gametrailers;

Kratos soon arrives on the PlayStation 3 and only the VGAs will bring you the first-ever glimpse at this game. And let me put all you skeptics to rest right now. I’m happy to confirm you’ll be seeing real-time gameplay footage.

Hoorah! Lets hope the game can live up to the hype reamassed by David Jaffe on his blog.

There’s more exciting exclusives coming to the VGA Awards, including an extended real-time time trailer of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and the very first trailer of the Xbox 360’s exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV downloable content, The Lost and Damned.

Geoff also hints at some new game announcements, so it might be a good idea to tune into Spike TV on Decemeber 14th.
