Fable 2 Wins X-Play’s 2008 Game of the Year Award

With games like Gears of War 2, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Left 4 Dead, Grand Theft Auto IV, Resistance 2 and Fallout 3 being nominated, Fable 2 came out on top for X-Play’s Game of the Year for 2008.
Yea, I’m not kidding either. I mean don’t get me wrong, I played Fable 2 and thought it was a great game, but I didn’t think it was worthy of Game of the Year with the likes of MGS4 and GoW 2, but I guess X-Play thought differently. X-Play Host, Adam Sessler, had this to say,
“The game’s charming settings, elegant combat and accessibility without compromising depth all worked together to create our favorite gaming experience of the year.”
If it were up to me, I’d go with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for Game of the Year (which won four different awards, including Best Action/Adventure Game), but that’s just my opinion. I know there are many of you who would go with Gears of War 2 or Fallout 3, but I don’t think many were picking Fable 2 to land the top spot.

I love Fable 2, but I think Fallout 3 is a better game. They gave good reasons, though.

Should have been Fallout 3.
