Xbox Live: Halo 3 Back at #1

According to the folks over at TeamXbox.com, Larry Hryb, the Xbox Live Director of Programming, has posted a list of the top 10 most-played games over Xbox Live, revealing that Halo 3 is back in the #1 spot. Hit the jump to see the other nine games that made the list.
Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (based on UU’s)
- Halo 3
- Call of Duty: World at War
- Gears of War 2
- Call of Duty 4
- GTA IV
- Left 4 Dead
- Madden NFL 09
- Fable II
- Fallout 3
- FIFA 09
That’s right. Even with new releases like Gears of War 2, Call of Duty: World at War, Fable II and Left 4 Dead, Halo 3 (which is now over a year old) is currently the most played game on Xbox Live. Not totally hard to believe seeing that Microsoft recently put a discount on the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack, which might have gotten a bunch of gamers back into the Halo 3 mood.
Personally, even after playing some of the newest games for a few awhile, I’ll always somehow manage to drift back to Halo 3. I think it just has that much depth, replay value, and not to mention a lot of my friends still play. Looks like there are a lot of gamers out there who might feel the same way.

With gears online being the same thing as the last along with the online needing a patch im not shock that people are now playing halo again.

i’m not surprised by this. i played BioShock (loved it), and immediately went back to Halo 3. the same exact things happened for me with games that have very good online matchups (GTA IV, Gears 2).

For online multiplayer my favourite game, even on Xbox Live, is still Team Fortress 2. No-one I know owns it anymore though, and the one person who does uses the PC, so Halo 3 is pretty much all I can play with friends.
But I have to agree that it is very replayable.
