Rumor: New Downloadable Content for SOCOM: Confrontation

An inside source (and very credible one) has filled us in with some great news for SOCOM: Confrontation players. There’s suppose to be new downloadable content coming out for Confrontation which includes five new maps, three of which are new to Confrontation and two that are totally new to the SOCOM series. And that’s not all. The new DLC is also said to contain new weapons, new attachments and a new faction: Russians. Still think that’s not enough new content? Well, the new DLC is also said to add turrets to maps, new character models and two new game modes that are only going to be for the new maps.
As a huge SOCOM fan since the series installment on the PS2, I’m really hoping this rumor of new DLC is true and, hopefully, comes out soon. Remember, there’s no word of if or when this new content will come out. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what developer Slant Six will do.

my name says it all this probally is bull from /6 trying to keep people to stick to the game. You do realize it took them over 2 years to make 5 maps and touch up 2. this won’t happen in the next year. Its been 4 months and they have released 2 patches, that didn’t fix 1/2 of what they said it would. /6 is a horrible rookie developer and there game is terrible

I admit the game was pretty bad when it was first released, but the latest patch really fixed things up and it’s one of my favorite games on the PS3. I think the new DLC would just make the game better and make socom fans happy :)

To be honest I think this is great news! (If 100% True) The game has had its hard times, and to those who still experience problems i feel horrible for, because when you get into a room full of two teams working together, the game really shines! By far the best tactical gaming series period (including Confrontation). The problems do not really affect me anymore, yet every now and then they come up but if you are TRUELY a socom fan, then you will know that there has NEVER been a LAG FREE socom. All in all great stuff!

the only way this is good news and the ONLY way i would even consider downloading this is well, if it was free. There is no way they should even think about asking gamers to pony up money for this after the disgrace that was Confrontation. Should be free DLC to thank people for putting up with a crappy, barely functioning, absent of fun game for 4 months with the only thing to show for your wasted time is a badass headset.

Are you kidding me? They dont even have the game working right. I love SOCOM but they need to fix the game before they waste time on new maps. Seriously slant six REMOVE the RANK system for all games except clan matches…This will resolve all the voting and any chance people might have to try and rank up. Problem solved. Now move onto friends follow feature, tie breaker, simplify all scoring screens, make menus faster… now we are on a roll… OK now add maps etc!

I better not have to pay for any DLC for SOCOM:Confrontation. I already paid full price for an unfinished rushed out the door game.

Why don’t they concentrate on the clan ladder which is supposed to be the main part of the game. It’s why the stats revolve around being in a clan, yet they keep putting it off but leaking boolshit like this. I could careless about the russians, unless one of them rocks a blue gucci sweater and stutters. Yes, new maps would be a great addition, but they should concentrate on what’s ON THE BOX first and leave this ’til later.

I have alot of fun with Socom as it is now. Sure there are still missing features and a few problems but those are being fixed. And I have had way more fun with 1.3 than I did with 1.2. I think this is great news if it is indeed true. I don’t know what all of you guys’ problems are.

Are you kidding?!?! I’m STILL waiting for this to be RELEASED(!) in Europe. I’ve been playing since the first Socom, and I’ve got this one pre-ordered since I dont know how when. How can they think about DLC when most of the players still can’t play (well, they can if they cheat). So, when the game is finally released here, I still will have to buy a DLC to be able to play with the rest of the word?

that is some great news(rumor), yeah the game had very hard times but now its awesome I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a teamwork/tactical game you won’t be dissapointed(unless you just love run & gun) it wasn’t a fail in my opinion the launch was fail but the game now is pretty good. But they haven’t fixed other problems yet so this needs to be either free or postponed.

This should have been the game S3 and Combined DISASTER should have been….but NOOOO…Sethy boy decided to add what all of us “LOYAL SOCOM VETS” wanted and that was stealing features from games we did not want. This edition of Socom- Ghost rainbow call of vegas is a miserable fail. That d-bag went on the record in April of 08 saying that dlc was already in production, months before the final “game” BETA was sold to the public still unfinished and missing half the features on the box…For you people still taking nut butter from slant sux I got a bukkake party for you. FVCK SLANT AND SETH FOR KILLING SOCOM. The headset is the only thing that saved this purchase for me…I feel bad for the people who got DEE-BO’d into the money laundering psn store version for 40 bucks…hell they cant even try to sell their copy of this garbage.

This game is only as good as the people that you’re playing with. If you’re playing with some cockmonkey that doesn’t use his mic or camps and lets his team die it’ll suck. If you’re playing with guys that look at this game in a more “chess-like” way its hot. I’ve had guys run out and draw fire and get themselves killed just so me and the rest of the team can pinpoint a sniper. Talking and planning shit and watching your plans actually work is what makes this game the shit.
I think the main reason why so many people don’t like it cause it was rushed and slant 6 did alot of interviews saying they were doing big things with it and trying to take it back to the socom 2 days and people paid their money for it and got an unfinished product.
They said it on the site they main thing is actually working out the bugs and shit. People bitch and cry about lagging all day. Well its an online games and they tend to lag. I understand though. I’ve been cheated out of alot of kills because of lag. PS3 frozen and all that shit.
Putting new maps out are a good idea. And I know alot of people that’ll be happy to have something new to play rather than the same 8 maps.

i think this is more gonna be fact than rumour i have socom confrontation and it seriously lacks in maps and weapons i think smart developers already have dl content in mind while develpoing the game…it makes perfect sense socom only cost me £20 so what better way for the developer 2 make more money by selling the game then later releasin dl content to make more! lets say 5 more maps n new weapons cost u £10 2 download n 3 million people world wide download it…. u do the math..also downloadable content is totally free from piracy i think in the future all games will be downloadable and only playable on the console its downloaded on!!!!!

I Think The Game Rocks…….It has a real feel of Killin when your shooting and They went back 2 the roots….I Loved Socom 2 it was the best of the series and they went back to that .Now I didnt play this game when it first came out but I gotta say now its alot of FUN!

You sound like your a 13 year old kid, that played it twice and has a biased view. Anyone who would come up with /6 blows for a name is a narrow minded person (with a small penis ahhahah) and should not make any comments on any game.
I hope that they do come out with 5 new maps, lately ive started playing and getting back into socom.

I think they should have a paparazzi map. Where one team runs around dressed as half naked socialites, and they other team has to chase them taking pictures.
