DSi Lauch Title Rhythm Heaven Announced

Somewhere in the announcement of the North American launch of the Nintendo DSi today was lost the announcement of it’s first launch game, Rhythm Heaven. Hitting retail stores on April 5 along with the DSi hardware, Rhythm Heaven gives players the task of keeping their rhythm within a number of musical mini-games, then eventually combining all the mini-games into one melody, hopefully in rhythm.
Developed by the creators of the WarioWare series, Rhythm Heaven has been very popular since it’s launch in Japan last July for the DS, selling around 1.6 million copies. Looks like Nintendo is banking on a very strange game to cash in on with the DSi hardware. Kind of surprising seeing that they didn’t even release the Game Boy Advance predecessor, Rhythm Tengoku, in North America. We’ll see how things go in early April, but I’m sure Nintendo knows what they’re doing.

This is truly one of the best games on the DS; if you don’t have the Japanese version already, get it!
