GDC09: MotionPlus, Wii Sports Resort Still Aimed for a Spring Release

by Rangebar Merani on March 27, 2009 at 9:40 am

Remember Wii Sports Resort and the MotionPlus device for the Wii? Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t because they were no where to be seen at Nintendo’s GDC09 showing, although both are still on target for a spring release.

We first saw and got our hands on Wii Sports Resort last year at E3, which was first slated for a Holiday season release, but since then has been pushed back to the spring, which is now, but not entirely according to Reggie Fils-Aim.

When asked about the missing game and device by MTV Mulitplayer, Reggie stated that they could still make a spring release.

“We haven’t announced the full spring line-up … And it feels like winter in Seattle right now.”

He went on to add that the controls for Wii Sports Resort is much better now since the first demo was released.

“The level of full motion capability is far in excess of what we showed at E3.”

Let’s see if Nintendo can get its shit together and release both the MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort before summer arrives.
