Modder Creates His Own 360 Fightstick… In A Shoebox

by Demi Adejuyigbe on March 29, 2009 at 12:15 pm

With about $300, you can buy a pretty good fightstick for your Xbox 360 and bring the arcade experience into your own home. For those that don’t have $300 to spend, or wish to be more frugal, you can always just make your own- out of a shoebox.

Kotaku reader Rotundo managed to make the two fightsticks you see above for $40, with some relatively cheap buttons and a two 360 controllers. Without any wood to encase the wiring, he took the most practical approach- and put it in a shoebox. The blue one is wireless, and the golden one is not, though you don’t have to worry about loose cords, since it’s a shoebox.

Unfortunately, he made no mention of instructions, though I would guess that its one part controller innards, three parts duct tape. Good luck taking that thing online, Rotundo! Shoe ‘em who’s boss!

I’m sorry.

Interesting, but what would really impress me is seeing a next gen console made out of the shoes.

I would really love to try to make one of these too. It's either this or that MadCatz $30 GamePad they made. It's wicked hard to play SF4 with a standard 360 controller.

I would love one of these!
