This is by far the funniest article I’ve read in the past few weeks. I’m writing an article on racism and games, and this was such a great pick-me-up to mellow down my tone before I go off ranting. I’ll definitely link out to this article so more people can see it.

this is just stupid. In almost every zombie games there are only white zombies now there are some black zombies and its called racism.

In left 4 dead 2: there are white and black zombies whats racist about that? and on the survivers side there are 2 black people and 2 white people so its even.

resident evil 5: there are lots and lots of black zombies because its in afrika. Its not like theye want to kill black people theye just got infected just like te rest of the world. in all the other resident evil games there where only white zombies.

it would be racist if there wherent black zombies.

It’s only fair to have African American zombies since this infection in the game is taking place in South America…I mean, just an example, if it’s taking place in China, and instead of Chinese, the zombies were white. THAT would probably be slammed for racism.
Also, maybe just from a story developing point of view, the American and European area has been used quite often in movies already (Resident Evil, Silent Hill, 28 Days Later etc to name a few). So perhaps, instead of something cliche, why not try something else?
I think racist or not, it’s all up in the mind of an individual. If racism did not occur to a person, he or she will not think or take it that way. If that’s the case, doesn’t that would mean that the people who makes the most noise, are racist themselves then?

If what you said in your article is followed by many black men that play video games, I dont want you to kill ANY white zombies, and I promise from this point on, I wont kill another black one.

So does this mean there will be an Asian uprising if they make a RE game based in China or Japan? Or maybe a Hitler wannabe will come kill us all when they make a L4D based in Germany and all the zombies have little moustaches.

Well I’m pretty sure the U.N. put a hault to racism when they decalered there is only one race the human race and although we maybe be white, black, yellow, red or what ever part of the rainbow you fit in your still a person and when it comes down to it thats all your shooting is people now if you go out of your way to shoot zombies of a certain ethnic background then you are prejudice not the game developers.

The argument you presented is not a really good one. How can you complain that Valve is racist when you yourself don’t mind killing white zombies. I just find this to be hypocrisy. So is it okay to only kill whites in video games? I believe that can be considered racism based on your argument.

You have to remember that for many people who argue without thinking first, the term “racist” has basically lost all meaning.
Racism is a form of DISCRIMINATION based on race. Since there is a HUGE mix and HUGE variety of physical appearances of zombies in this game, it is CRYSTAL CLEAR that no one type of appearance or race was DISCRIMINATED against. In fact, you could say the game is full of DIVERSITY DIVERSITY DIVERSITY YAY DIVERSITY! I’m sure the author LOVES the word DIVERSITY!

You know what the author wants? White zombies only- the author wants the game to like first one, where you kill white zombies only. It’s quite clear that the author is projecting his anti-white racism into his completely baseless accusations against the game. I dare say, the author is 100% racist and a bigot. Time for him to attend sensitivity training classes!

In all truthfulness, the only true racists, are the people that think they are being singled out for the color of their skin pigmentation. People crack bigot jokes based on cultures and previous ways society used people, but that does not mean that programmers or designers are following past ways of life. Slavery existed, get the fuck over it. That was just the way things were a long time ago. I’ve accepted it, and you should too.

Wait, are you guys serious? This post is entirely sarcastic. I don’t really care whether or not Valve includes black zombies in Left 3 Dead 2. When I’m playing a video game, I don’t specifically look out for a certain ethnicity of zombie. That’s incredibly stupid. Zombies are zombies, just like people are people, and whether you’re a black zombie, or a white zombie, you’re probably getting a shotgun blast to the face.

Seriously, I laid the sarcasm on rather thick in this post.

Racism is around because black people are still around. Everyone knows the most racist people are black people. They cry about everything, facts are facts. Black people commit more crimes than white people. Every race has bad people, but majority of black people are racist and dont follow laws. Sorry, sad but true.
