Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning’s Powerful Scene Drive Ability Revealed in Latest Shounen Jump

A recently translated Japanese Jugem blog post, which discusses Final Fantasy XIII information found in the December 7th issue of Shounen Jump, reveals a powerful move unique to Lightning. The exact Google translation I was able to get amounts to “Lightning strongest, most powerful ability of total consumption time gauge.”

Offering up a slightly better translation, Neogaf user Duckroll commented on the blog post describing the move as a Blaster ability called “Scene Drive” which consumes the entire Active Time Battle (ATB) gauge. No specific details about what the move itself does were given in the blog post, but that doesn’t mean it’s a complete mystery.

While my Japanese translating admittedly sucks, the vast majority of my life spent reading comic books has given me the uncanny ability to process information without ever having to reading a word. It may not be much, but the three panels highlighted in the magazine tell me that the move involves Lightning thrusting forward towards the enemy with her sword in hand and performing a series of repetitive strikes.
