Modern Warfare 2 Gay Easter Egg Conversation

The latest chapter of Modern Warfare gay related news come from a recently discovered gay related Easter Egg conversation that takes place if you happen to leave the game idle in the starting area. While idle, a soldier walks into your vicinity and asks an unknown entity the question “Are you still gay? I’m kidding.” to which another voice responds “Don’t ask don’t tell bro.” The video can be seen below.
Look, while I agree with Adam Sessler’s comments regarding the grenade spamming F.A.G.S. mock public service announcement issued by Infinity Ward, I also think that some things need to be taken with a grain of salt and a sense of humor.
I once had my uncle (a former marine who is now married with two kids) leave a message for me on my grandmothers answering machine claiming to be a man named Aldo. He said I met him at a local “club”. The message went completely over my poor grandmothers head and she saved it for weeks while I was out of town telling people that it was “an important message for her grandson.” We still laugh about it years later when our family gets together for the holidays. Neither of us are gay, and that isn’t even the point. The point is, it was a joke between two guys. Why must everything be so serious?
Modern Warfare is a mature rated game. It features gunfire, bloodshed, and other types of mature oriented content. If this line was delivered in an episode of HBO’s Entourage would we struggle to see the comedy in it? That said, Infinity Ward did go out of their way to create an offensive parody PSA, so there will be those who argue that the company did this, not to add realism, but to further mock a demographic.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I’m sure this video will generate plenty. Do you think Infinity Ward went over the line by including this type of conversation in their game, or do you feel that this type of “ball busting” dialogue is merely an extension of a well thought out starting area featuring soldiers working on vehicles and shooting hoops?

if you ask me they are trying to poke fun at the military policy more than anything else
I think that while the humor may not be for everyone, there's nothing wrong with it being there.
well said ;)
i think its dumb. the comment doesnt add anything to the game besides hate. what if the person is gay? whats it matter?
Jay is Gay LOL (inside joke between couple of people who read ripten, not to offend anyone)
I am gay and I play Modern Warfare 2 daily. If Infinity Ward said screw the homos, I would still play. Because it is an opinon. Although there may be quite a few opinions that I disagree with or feel displeased with, but then again…. just an opinion. Doesn't mean anything or prove anything. Some F.A.G.S. (lol) will do anything for what little attention a “big scene” promotes. In other words. Get the hell over it. Nobody cares who you are or what you are. Play the damn game and shut up already. These sort of games were made for the grown ups. If you can't keep your diaper up, don't join in.
Think back to the very beginning. The first day you popped your Modern Warfare 2 disc in. What did it ask you? It asked you if you would take offense to ANY CONTENT on the game. If you clicked NO. It asked you a SECOND time. If you clicked NO again, you agreed to STFU and GTF over it. =]
Add me.
