The catchy tune “Would You Like To Blow Shit Up With Me?” has been stuck in the heads of many since we first heard it last night in the Crackdown 2 VGA 09 trailer. Well, thanks  to the wonderful world of Twitter, and some well connected writers on staff, we are  happy to tell you that we finally know what the jingle is based on.

Dennis Lesica, who worked with g-NET Media on the Crackdown 2 trailer, informed us today that the song is actually Richard Swift’s “Would You” modified with a very well placed censoring bleep. Lesica also shared the information on his twitter.

Here’s a link to the original song by Richard Swift. Give it a listen and compare it to the track in the Crackdown 2 trailer below.

In addition to giving us lyrical closure on the song, Lesica shared the following info about the making of the trailer itself on his blog:

Although it only runs for roughly 90 seconds, it took many late nights — sometimes until 11 PM — to set some of those shots up and capture them properly. I had no idea what went into making gameplay trailers until I started working on them and it’s very much like being on a film set. Props to my co-workers.

Kudos to Dennis and the rest of the g-NET Media crew for putting together a kick ass trailer with in-game footage and big thumbs up the game’s producer for selecting the catchy tune. Here’s to the future of blowing shit up together in Crackdown 2.
