Team Fortress 2 Update Week: The Demoman’s Shiny New Toy

The first weapons from the latest Team Fortress 2 update have been revealed today. The Demoman will be getting a huge sword to replace the Scrumpy Bottle, and a shield to replace the Sticky Launcher. The Soldiers are still ahead of the Demos in the war, however.

The Eyelander is a giant melee sword that is possessed by a spirit that not only cuts down your maximum health, but has a thirst for necks (the sword decapitates people). As you get more and more kills, the sword grants you health and movement speed, increasing your chances of a killing spree.

The Chargin’ Targe replaces the Sticky Bomb Launcher, but grants +50% fire damage resistance and +65% blast damage resistance, along with a devastating charge attack. When used with the charge, the Eyelander can mini-crit or full-crit enemies hit based on the length of the charge.
