Slime Curling: Big News, or Biggest News?

Dragon Quest should illicit feelings of giddiness in even the sternest RPG fans, and the Dragon Quest VI remake for the Nintendo DS would have people shaking in antici….. pation without even adding anything new. Square-Enix isn’t content with simply slapping updated graphics onto it and letting us poke at the game with a stick though, they are adding new features left and right.
The addition of Surechigai Wi-Fi, which enables the sharing of information and data between players without even having the system active, may have seemed like a big deal, but it has certainly been trumped by the newest screens of the game. Joining the casino and the lovely fashion contest mini games is news so Earth shattering, so mind bending, so devastatingly interesting that I am considering importing this game and learning Japanese immediately.
We finally have Slime Curling.
I’m not even being facetious about my excitement. OK, maybe I am a little bit, but mini-games are fun and Slimes are adorable so I figured the odds are somebody would be interested in this. Plus, during the last winter Olympics, curling was the second highest rated game on TV. It obviously has an audience. An audience of people too lazy to change the channel between hockey games, but an audience nonetheless.
I get the feeling that I’ll actually know what the hell is going on with Slime Curling even though I still don’t know what is going on in actual curling. Is the ice really that dusty? It sure needs to get swept a lot.
