Windows Mobile and Xbox LIVE to Breed

If you have a Windows Mobile device and have found yourself thinking “gee, I wish there was more interaction between my LIVE account and this thing in my pocket” you may be in luck.
According to a job posting dug out of the recesses of the internet by Endadget, Microsoft is looking for somebody to principally manage programs related to bringing “LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile.” This might not seem too exciting since you probably can’t think of many reasons you would need to access your friends list while drinking alone at a bar, plus they already have an ‘app for that’ anyway, but the real interesting bit comes in the mention of “multi-screen experiences.”
Obviously we don’t even know what that means, and unless one of us has the expertise to manage this program we probably won’t know for a while, but it is easy to speculate that Microsoft may be planning on some LIVE games that would be playable on a Windows Mobile device. One might remember that Nintendo did something like that in the past for the Gamecube with the Game Boy Advance instead of a fancy newfangled phone, and the Dreamcast also allowed its own controller to become a bit of an interactive handheld too. It is surprising that an attempt at something like this hasn’t really been made since. We’ve been inching slowly towards a Cyberpunk dystopia for a little while now, and being able to control our video game systems and have an even more interactive experience with some games from our cellphones is just another step towards neon cities, augmented reality glasses, and the Coil Cyber Detective Agency.
Just remember not to screw with Section 9.
