Mega Man Fan Movie Looks So Awesome it Doesn’t Need a Witty Post Title

I almost don’t even want to talk about this because Capcom might be listening, and I don’t want a repeat of the Hero of Time travesty. Maybe fan movies should become like Fight Club, we just don’t talk about them until they are out and available in every dark corner of the internet. Regardless, I have a job to do for you loyal Ripten fans. Eddie Lebron, the director of the absolutely amazing looking Mega Man fan film in question, has stated on his website that the premiere of the film will most likely be in the next 3 to 5 months. Apparently a screening at MagFest was beyond any expectations, and the version screened will be the super mega final version.

If no delays occur and everything is smooth, you are looking at a Premiere/Release within the next 3-5 months (meaning the soonest possible CAN be 3 months from right now). I don’t want to say a specific release date at the risk of it backfiring in my face but we are close

Let’s face it, the acting looks cheesy, but it looks APPROPRIATELY cheesy. That was my problem with the Hero of Time movie- it wasn’t campy enough and it actually detracted from the movie that they were so super serial about it. This fan movie seems to get it, and it seems to get exactly what kind of attitude a fan made Mega Man movie should have. Maybe I’m just biased because Mega Man was always my favorite video game series, but… ok yeah, totally biased. This still looks great though.

The only worry I have is how long it is going to take for this to get yanked from the internet, or if the director will get a cease and desist before it is even released. After how Hero of Time got handled, I’m pretty gun shy about if we are actually going to witness this awesomeness in its full. Still, I can’t help but wonder how excited HORSE the band is about this? That reference was for the ten of you who got it, thank you.

Nintendo can't put an end to this one. They own Zelda, not Megaman. The balls in Capcom's court this time.
