NFL License Overrated? Blood Bowl Title Gives New Meaning to Fantasy Football with Warhammer Inspired Characters

In a world where EA Sports holds an exclusive death grip over NFL licensed videogames, everyone else is left scrambling to sign retired pros to promote their non-sanctioned spin off … everyone but South Peak Games and Cyanide Studios that is.

The tag team above is set to release a mythical football game on the PC and Xbox 360 titled “Blood Bowl”, and its mix of Warhammer-esque characters and American Football gameplay will be bloody interesting if nothing else. Get it? Bloody because it’s called Blood Bo … nevermind. Blood Bowl comes with two play modes; turn based for fans of the board game it’s based on, and real time for those who want their Orc branded football fast and furious. In addition to Orcs, you’ll also be able to play as Humans, Skaven, Dwarfs, Wood Elves, Goblins, Lizardmen, and Chaos.

I’m personally excited to play it as I’m a big football fan who’s also logged countless hours as an MMO raider,  not to be confused with an Oakland Raider. Just win baby!

    if i remember correctly, this is one of the games that should be using the new crysis engine.

    you all covered it a while back with a video of a game, that i can't remember the name at all, with similar characters battling it out in a type of domination style match. there was killing, and absolutely no hud. it looked fun.
