Just Cause 2 Demo Available on Steam

Avalanche have finally released the demo for Just Cause 2 today, which you can find on Steam (if you so wish). It’s 2 Gb on XP and 3 Gb on Vista/7 according to the system specs. This might be something to do with the fact that it’s bloody huge.

They boasted 35 square miles, and although I’m not sure of that, it is a huge space for a demo to take place. They’ve also done the sensible thing and limited you by time and said “have fun, champ” instead of making you stick to missions. I’ve spent the last half an hour having the time of my life. It looks great, plays very smoothly, has terrible voice acting, and you can blow stuff up pretty much without fear of dying. It’s one of the best demos I’ve played in a long time. Fares well for the full game, if anything.

I has played this demo on 360 . . . it is already a lot better than JC1 . . but the issues with targeting make me want to play it on PC . . . hmmm . . .this does not bode well . . . hang on as I hookshot off this plane off of this car onto this boat . . .

I can see the problem. I played the PC version, and although the auto-aim is annoying, the mouse controls make the hookshot thing much easier to use.

Confident of their intrinsic qualities as the Swedes of Avalanche Studios have not dropped the case and began to work seriously to prepare a suite capable of erasing the mistakes of his elder brother while trying to take the gameplay a little further.
