Green Day: Rock Band Demo Teases Keyboards for Rock Band 3

Those of you who downloaded the Green Day: Rock Band demo from Xbox Live (do it here if you really want) may have already noticed that the above teaser image was displayed to them. Look closely- alongside the four instrument icons is a fifth ‘keyboard’ icon.

Pretty obvious tease- keyboards (or keytars) are certainly the logical progression of the series. I now fully expect the most difficult song in Rock Band 3 to be something by Yes. That’s right, a classic rock reference, on Ripten. How delightful!

Seriously though, I want to play Close to the Edge on Rock Band, and will not be happy until I am able to do so. Incidentally, I’m glad Joystiq noticed this for me, so I don’t have to get anywhere near a Green Day song shitting out of my speakers. Just kidding!
