Mark Hamill To Retire The Joker After Batman: Arkham Asylum 2

Mark Hamill, who some may argue is better known today as “the guy who voiced Joker” instead of “the guy whose dad is Darthvader”, recently told IGN UK that he plans to retire the maniacal Joker. In fact, Hamil said that he was ready to put old smiley to bed after the highly praised release of the original Arkham game, telling developer Rocksteady that he wanted his efforts as the Joker to go out on “a high note.”
Understanding the reason for his hesitation, the developer shared their vision with him and successfully alleviated any concerns Hamill had about a less than stellar sequel.
Could a mega hit sequel followed by another equally successful pitch convince the actor to come back for a third installment in the future? The answer to that appears to be no.
“This will be my last, there’s no question about that,” said Hamill, “but it’s the last hurrah.”
Hey, who can blame the guy? He’ll have two next gen games, a slew of cartoon episodes, and a three part Light Saber series from the 80s to hang his hat on when it’s all said and done. As a very wise Jedi Master would likely say,”shabby his career is not.”
