New DSi XL Colours Coming to Japan, Along with Price Drop

Three vibrant new DSi XL colours are coming to Japan, Nintendo announced today, along with a price drop. The price drop applies both to DSi and DSi XL models.

The yellow, green and blue DSi XL models (seen above) will be coming to Japan on June 19th, and the price drop will apply on the same date. The plain DSi price will drop from 18,900 yen to 15,000 ($163), and the DSi XL’s price will drop from 20,000 yen to 18,000 ($196). We live in hope of a Western price drop at some point in the near future.

With these lovely new colours and a price drop on the cards, is anyone thinking about getting hold of one of these? It certainly seems an attractive prospect, but I don’t know if I can justify getting one when I already own a DS (yes, my pockets are tighter than a gnat’s chuff).
