Contra’s Back! Well, Sort Of…
The Pre-E3 presents have begun to unwrap, and IGN just threw a Hard Corps: Uprising preview into the pile of proverbial gifts. Hard Corps is essentially a caroontish (don’t tell Morgan Webb) Contra, without the word Contra mucking things up. Why on earth Konami would leave off the word Contra is beyond me but hey, that’s why they get paid the big marking bucks while I sit at home blogging in my underwear. Oh wait, maybe this is more of that “modern makeover magic” we’ve all been hearing about.
IGN describes the game as being “straight up what you would expect from Contra”, in other words, run and gun melt your face off platforming. Hard Corps: Uprising will have two difficulty modes, allowing lesser skilled players to take a few more damaging blows before hitting the carpet.
If you’re interested in giving this game a whirl, go ahead and circle all the winter months on your calendar as a reminder that it will be available to you sometime then on the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade. In the mean time, head on over to IGN for the full preview.
