The Online Options of Gran Turismo 5

Although we can guess from Gran Turismo 5: Prologue how the 16-player online races will be done, until now we’ve not had much information on how Gran Turismo 5′s online modes will work in the full game. Luckily, Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi has helped clear the air a little.
As Destructoid reports, you will be able to keep track of not only your own stats in the “My Home” area of the main game, but those of your friends as well. This is all accessed via a tab entitled “GT Live”.
A new feature for GT5 is the “My Lounge” area. Here most of the action will happen- this is where races can be organised, or one may simply decide to watch a race in progress. Each player has their own “Lounge”, which their friends can access to set up races, as well as check out stats and Trophies. You can send messages to each other here as well.
It all seems a little complex, but with the lovely menu system in Gran Turismo I’m sure it’ll be very slick. I’m looking forward to this game a lot as a fan of the series. You are all invited to my lounge, but for fuck’s sake clear up your coke spills on my chair this time.
