Want a New 360? Trade in Your Old One for $100

It’s okay, you can admit it: ever since Microsoft’s press conference last week, you’ve been jealous of every last snobby game journalist who was invited to attend Microsoft’s press conference. Not because they got to enjoy all the games that are not yet on the market, though there is that, too, but because they all got to go home to a nice, brand-spankin’ new Xbox 360, the very same new model which had been shown off just moments before.
But you’ll show them. You’ll show them all! You’ll head right out and get your very own Xbox 360 Slim (or whatever they’re calling it), and there’s nothing they can do about it. Who’s laughing now, huh?
Except there is just one teensy little issue standing before you: you’re a little short on cash. Perhaps it’s the fault of the economy, or maybe it’s just because you’ve heavily invested funds into games for that old Xbox 360 you have. You know, the one that ironically saved you several cents on the dollar on your heating bill last winter.
It’s been a good friend to you, loyal even. You’ve had a lot of good times together, but… well, you just can’t trust it. You can’t trust it, because it bears the mark. You know where it came from, and you know what that entails. Sure, those four lights are green right now, but…
The feeling is inevitable. Your luck will only last so long, and then bam! (or maybe “whirrrrrr-click”)… no more Xbox 360.
You know you have to get it, before it gets you. As a paperweight, it’s worthless to you, especially after your warranty expired just last week. The time to act is now, before it’s too late… one all-nighter with Modern Warfare 2, and it could all be over. And what then?
But that new Xbox 360, with its reported improvements… that is what you want, what you know you need, but… how? If only there were some way to make the switch, then no one would be the wiser…
Luckily for you, there is hope, and there is a way. Well, sort of.
While you won’t get the full value of the new-and-improved Xbox 360, taking your old model down to GameStop will net you $100, so long as you promise to put it towards the new model.
What’s more, there are other ways to stack on to those savings. Among the deals currently running until July 18th, you can get $50 for a 250GB hard drive, $18 for a 512MB memory card, and $25 for a wireless controller. Supposing you hand over all of that, you’re $193 toward your $369.97 goal.
But you had best hurry, before it is too late. Even now, as you cast an ear toward your Xbox 360, you can hear it…
Tick-tock. Tick-tock…
