Final Fantasy V and VI Could Come to Nintendo 3DS

Thanks to technical issues with the DS, Square Enix had previously dismissed efforts to bring Final Fantasy V and VI to the DS. With the 3DS, however, Shinji Hashimoto has said that we may see these games come to the new platform.

“As for FF5 and 6, there are technical problems; presently these are also undecided,” tweeted producer Shinji Hashimoto earlier this year. He has now told Siliconera that “Rather than creating [Final Fantasy] V or VI for the current DS we want to take a look to see how 3DS does, how it evolves, and then make a decision.”

So, they are considering it. Which may as well be a confirmation at this point, when you think about how well Square Enix do out of remaking their old Final Fantasy games. As long as they’re good remakes, I have no problem with them milking the cash cow a bit more, but I do hope that they don’t pull it’s metaphorical udders off. Proverbial animal rights activists will be up in arms about it.
