Mass Effect 2 DLC Plans Reaffirmed By BioWare
Mass Effect 2′s lead producer, Casey Hudson, assured us some time ago that a steady stream of new DLC would keep the game alive until the inevitable release of Mass Effect 3. BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk reiterated to VG247 that the plan is still in motion.
“We still have more DLC in the plan for Mass 2…The last ones were really well received. People were really, really impressed with the Overlord Pack, and the Kasumi one did really well too.”
Both the Kasumi and Overlord pack offered original, yet short story arcs featuring new locations and characters. Kasumi and Overlord, however, were relatively tame, featuring all-human casts. Though the missions were entertaining and sprinkled with loot, there is still much to be explored within the universe that BioWare has yet to touch on. Perhaps they never will.
Zeschuk also went on to say that the rate in which DLC will be released is probably going to slow down. He assures readers that though these new installments will not be so frequently implemented, they will be substantial additions to the game. However, there are only so many mini-missions one can create for the cow is officially drained.
There will come a time when Mass Effect 2 can no longer quench your thirst. Then all you can do is keep vigil, waiting for the final installment of the trilogy to appear. Peace will reign throughout the land.
