Those who plan on purchasing Blizzard’s upcoming RTS sequel will be happy to know that the game can be downloaded right now, free of charge, and then paid for and unlocked on the day of release.

I imagine that downloading the game on the actual release date will be more like a Zerg crawl than a Zerg rush (fun Starcraft joke!), so if you plan to purchase the game digitally, it’s definitely something you should do sooner rather than later.

If you choose to download the game this way, keep in mind that it will unlock on July 27th at 10:00 AM PDT, which is when digital copies of the game go on sale.
