EA Announcing New Games Later Today, New Fight Night Confirmed
EA is set to announce a couple of new games later this afternoon, with Fight Night: Champion already being announced.
According to a tweet from EA, the company will be revealing some new games at its annual studio showcase later today, with GameSpot streaming the whole thing live.
“New games announced tomorrow at EA’s annual Studio Showcase. GameSpot livestreaming it 1 PST”
However, the plug has already been pulled on a new boxing title from EA Sports, Fight Night: Champion.
Coming out sometime in 2011 for the 360 and PS3, Fight Night: Champion will feature a new single-player mode which will “break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing,” according to EA Vancouver.
Champion will also introduce a new gameplay feature called “Full Spectrum Punch Control,” which will allow players to move around the ring to deliver “some of the most devastating punches ever seen in a Fight Night game.”
Other than Fight Night: Champion, no other titles have been confirmed as of yet. While the showcase will surely feature some of the games that have already been announced such as Bulletstorm, Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, Crysis 2 and others, EA is bound to have some big surprises for us.
I’m hoping for a new Battlefield and maybe (fingers crossed) Mirror’s Edge 2? Let’s not jinx it.
We’ll all know which titles EA has set for our future later today.
