FPS Terminator Alpha Demo Released

Movie games suck, right? It seems like the bigger the budget the more destined they are to fail. By that logic, then, FPS Terminator must succeed. It’s a not-so little shooter project by The Original Studios based on the Unreal Engine. The game was originally just a mod and has evolved into a full-blown indie title at this point.

FPS: Terminator is set in the future world of the Terminator universe, after the machines have taken over. In the demo video, the game is shown running at a decent framerate with several enemies on screen at once and effects like explosions going off. The models and textures are high-quality, and the game is already showing a lot of polish in the graphics and animations. The developer admits he’s pretty much just developing for his own system right now, and the unofficial system requirements are pretty steep; you’ll need a beast of a computer if you want to try this one out yourself.

At this point, the game is really more of a tech demo, but it already shows a lot of promise. As with any indie title, the release date looks to be “Whenever I finish it”, but it’s not hard to see that the developer’s dedication is paying off.
