According to the NPD group, total games industry sales in 2009 added up to a little over $20 billion, while a study by JJGames shows that used game sales amass about $2 billion, roughly a tenth the number of new game sales.
You may have heard that used game sales were destroying the gaming universe as we know it. I can give you around 20 billion reasons why they’re not. Get it? Each one of those reasons is a dollar pulled in by new game sales. That’s just a little comedy for you.
