Angry Birds Coming to PS3, DS and PSP

Joe Wee, the co-founder of Rovio, developer of the popular iPhone game Angry Birds, has revealed today that the game will be coming to PS3, DS, and PSP.

“When it was released last December Angry Birds made a slow start but as word got round, everyone’s gone crazy for it,” Said Wee.

Crucially, he adds: “We are also releasing it on Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PS3.”

Angry Birds is one of the only games I’ve bothered buying for the iPhone, and it seems a good fit for the DS, but the PS3 and PSP versions will really have to add something special that can make up for the lack of touch input.

It’s a pretty iPhone-centric game, being something to play in tiny bursts, so I’m not sure how well it will work; but that remains to be seen.
