Nintendo Collectors Journal 8/24/2010

Many people know that I’m a big Nintendo Fanboy and that I collect Nintendo games, goods, memorabilia and more.  If it says Nintendo on it, and it’s official, I want it.  That’s what the Nintendo Collectors Journal is for.  From this point on I’ll be documenting all the exciting Nintendo items I gather on my travels.  I come across things both new and old so be sure to check back to see what I’ve come across.

The first item I came across this week is a Nintendo Power Collector’s Special issue named “The Official Guide to The Legend of Zelda”.  This issue gives a quick glimpse at every Zelda title ever released except for the CDi and Game & Watch Zelda games.  The special issue also has information on various Zelda characters and items.

What makes The Official Guide to The Legend of Zelda really nice is the fact that it comes with 10 posters and 18 stickers.  Since this issue is only available on newsstands I highly suggest you make sure no jerk stole some of the posters/stickers before you purchase it.

I also bought a Nintendo World Championships 1990 reproduction t-shirt.  I think the original shirt had Donkey Kong Jr. at the top instead of Link though.  Regardless I purchased this shirt because I thought it would be cool to wear it to the Wii Games Summer 2010 Finals that I’ll be competing in next week in Los Angeles.

    I know Hot Topic was selling them for a while. I couldn’t find any there so I ended up buying mine on ebay.

    I actually collect myself, but I stick to the NES games. Not one of those serious Stadium Events guys either – I just do it because nothing beats playing Monopoly or Nightmare on elm St with friends on a Nintendo.

    I’d take that over a next-gen title anyday.

    Heh, I picked up the Zelda issue about a month ago… still need to finish reading it.

    As for the shirt, I’d love to get my hands on that.
