UK Consumers Not Taken By 3D TV

Just 2% of UK consumers have shown interest in purchasing a 3D Television in a YouGov poll. Just 89 out of 4,199 Britons said they would have interest in buying a 3D-enabled TV in the next 12 months.

According to the Telegraph, consumers between 25 and 34 were “the most likely to say they were planning to buy a set,” with 5% saying they are interested in buying a 3D TV in the next 12 months.

People over 45 were “least likely to be planning to purchase a 3D TV set in the foreseeable future,” with 1% replying in the positive.

Of course, it’s all relative: interest in buying new electronics was low across the board- although HDTVs were the most popular item. Still, it just goes to show that no matter how much the TV companies shove it down our throats, most of us just don’t like 3D at all.

This 3D is completely useless and pointless. LED TV’S are better than 3D million times. I will not put a dam glasses just to see something and feel its coming on to me.

The only reason to have it is if you like having stuff fly at your face the whole time. Because that’s all that’s going to be on the 3D channels.

Hook up was a bit of cake to Sat box and then watched PBS Evening news. If the program isn’t in HD, the the {big} image makes the video TOO big and somewhat blurry, therefore you have got to scale the image back (easy to try to to with button management on the remote). Started up a recorded HD movie on my DVR, Star Trek initial Contact…and wow, the detail, colours the black level were wonderful and pretty much as good as any of the Sony and samsung similar TVs I saw within the show area.
