Square Enix has extended the MMORPG’s free trial period by one month in response to negative criticism from both fans and critics. As the company makes changes to the online game, Square Enix will extend the subscription-based game’s free trial period from 30 to 60 days for anyone that has purchased FFXIV and registered an account before October 25. After that, a monthly charge of $12.99 is required.
Final Fantasy XIV has received plenty of complaints from fans regarding a number of issues like lag, missing explanations/guides for systems, user interface deficiencies, and other problems.
“For those who purchased the collector’s edition and began to play one week before official service began, the month-long free play period is drawing to a close. Considering the nature of much of the feedback we received, however, and the current state of the game, we have decided to extend the free trial period for all users,” reads Square Enix’s official statement.
