Blizzcon Red Shirt Guy to Become a Cataclysm NPC

Although I chalk it down as nothing more than a fad or current meme, Red Shirt Guy has become quite a YouTube and internet success. Rising to popularity after he stumped the developers and writers of World of Warcraft, Red Shirt Guy is now set to become a NPC in the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion “Cataclysm”.

Christie Golden’s novel “The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm” was released just days before BlizzCon 2010, and Red Shirt Guy not only read the whole thing, but he also paid enough attention to actually notice a glaring discrepancy, one which was big enough to prompt him to then quiz Alex Afrasiabi and Chris Metzen. They promised to “get that fixed” and not only did they follow up on their promise, but they also bought him into the game as “Wildhammer Fact Checker”.
