First Details on Double Fine’s Next Game, “Stacking”
The first details on Double Fine and Tim Schafer’s lastest creation, Stacking, have been released. The game will be a 3rd-person adventure puzzle with a 1930′s art style. Each character will be a matryoshka, which is a Russian nesting doll. The game will play off of the toy’s stacking ability and players will be able to jump into bigger dolls, thereby taking control of them. The main character Charlie will need to harness other matryoshka’s abilities by using this concept.
Each doll has a unique ability. The video shows various abilities such as farting to clear sections of a room or doing a “sexy” dance lure guards away from their posts. The game will be chock full of puzzles and you will need to combine different Russian dolls in order to complete the puzzles. The game looks to have Tim Schafer’s usual blend of charm as well as a LEGO game feel to it.
Stacking is set to release on XBLA and PSN next Spring.
