PS3 Firmware Update 3.55 is Now Live – What it Brings

Firmware Update 3.55 is now live for your PlayStation 3!  So what changes can you expect from it?

Not much actually. It exists to add the ability to downgrade the firmware that can lead to a jailbreak. In other words, Sony isn’t ready to concede the PS3 to jailbreaking pirates yet.

I know, I was hoping they’d throw something interesting in there as well.  Still have my fingers crossed for cross-game chat someday.

    when you say cross game, do you mean they way xbox has private chat? because if so, i’m right there with you. do you have any lead on if/when sony plans to do that?

    Tomorrow. It’s a Christmas present from Sony to you. I work there. I should know. We are also planning a patch to allow Xbox 360 games too. :)

    i hope they can fix the screen cropping problem of ps3 on my HDTV. i know i’m not alone on this. i can’t even see the address bar when i browse the net.. i know it’s my tv’s problem but hey…

      Its not ur tv, u just need to adjust settings in the browser.
