World of Warcraft: Cataclysm – Fastest Selling PC Game of All Time
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm was a highly anticipated game as everyone knows of the phenomena of World of Warcraft. So it’s of no surpise that Blizzard has revealed Cataclysm as the “fastest-selling PC game of all time” disclosing such numbers as selling over 3 million units in the first 24 hours.
These sales numbers are based on “internal records,” and “reports from key distribution partners,” and show 3.3 million copies of the WoW expansion on day one, both through retail, digital distribution and pre-sales.
The previous record holder was also created by Blizzard and a World of Warcraft expansion. Wrath of the Lich King, sold a paltry 2.8 million units in 24 hours when it launched in 2008.
