Razer Enters the Console Market – Resistance is Futile

A recent press release for Razer’s new entry into the console peripheral market has sent out a booming message; “Resistance is futile”. The Razer Onza has been in production for quite a while, and global gaming audiences have been clamoring to get their hands on both the Razer Onza Tournament and Standard edition controllers which are slated for a January 2011 release.

Razer USA President Robert ‘Razerguy’ Krakoff is extremely confident in the product, saying;

“We predict mass hysteria in-stores, people will fight over fast-selling stock.  Blood might be spilled, so I recommend pre-ordering for minimal stress and safety issues.  With the Razer Onza controllers, we are excited to bring the attention to detail and precision we give our PC gaming peripherals to the Xbox 360.”

As mentioned earlier, the Onza comes in both a Tournament and Standard flavor, each featuring Multi-Function Buttons on the shoulders that players will be able to map to any function they want. Not only does this allow players to access buttons more easily, but disabled gamers will also have greater access to buttons they might normally be able to use. As well as the MFB’s, the Onza also features a 15 foot (3 meters) cable, Hyperesponse buttons, adjustable joystick resistance and most importantly PC compatibility.

Our editor Dave Oshry had the opportunity to get hands-on with the Razer Onza last week at the CES and he said that it was, in a word, awesome.

The Razer Onza will be available worldwide in January 2011 for $39.99 USD. Check out some new images below of the Tournament Edition;
