Failed Mortal Kombat Movie Now An Awesome Web Series

It was a big deal back in June when director Kevin Tancharoen unveiled his trailer for his vision of a new Mortal Kombat movie. At first, there was mass confusion, because due to the high production value many people thought that this was the real deal. Turns out it was a pitch trailer to sell the idea to Warner Brothers, the owner of the Mortal Kombat License.

Turns out Warner Brothers did not see the potential in the movie, but there is good news after all.  Tancharoen is planning a ten episode webseries that is based off of the trailer, and yes it will have Michael Jai White as Jax.  Unfortunately there is no information available as to the release date of the webseries. The original video shows Jax trying to convince a fighter to enter the deadly tournament to hunt down Reptile, Baraka, and a slew of other criminals. If you have 8 minutes to spare, watch the video. If you do not have time to spare, make some and GET OVER HERE!

Obviously cause it didn’t have any jewish backing :-P
Hate as much as you want you know it is true. Fact is not discrimination. My wife is jewish and she agrees :-P

This Pitch is by far the best of any MK movie we’ve ever seen.

Definitely excited for the web series, as it seems Tancharoen took some time to really pay attention to detail with the Mortal Kombat series. The web series is the perfect opportunity to hype up the movie release in 2012….hopefully Tancharoen gets the opportunity to produce.
