Interview with Joel ‘fps_doug’ Gardiner

Quite a while ago I was lucky enough to interview Davin Lengyel, the producer of Pure Pwnage, a long running and well known web series that was lucky enough to convert to a television show. Shortly after posting that interview Joel Gardiner contacted me on the Pure Pwnage forums offering a chance to hear the story from another point of view.

Well here’s the finished interview between myself and Joel, full of information on both Pure Pwnage and Joel’s acting career, and a number of other projects he is currently undertaking. Joel, or his character; “fps_doug” is best known for creating the phrase “BOOM HEADSHOT!”, something that has lived throughout the gaming community for years, earning him a mention in Call of Duty: Black Ops and even a very similar character in Grand Theft Auto IV in the form of Brucie.

I’ve also embedded a video below the interview that shows one of my favorite moments of Joel’s in the web-series. We actually discussed it in the interview!
